We research space to understand the laws of our Universe.
And we are just so dang curious. :)
and the pictures are pretty :)
I think of it as where the world was in the 16th century, where the New World was just being discovered. Now space is the new frontier, and we have so much to learn.

We research space to find new information. Scientists believe that the world will end in at least 50 octillion years. Yes, octillion is a word! Lol. Well anyways, some scientists think that the stars control the way of the future. In 50 octillion years, the sun (which is a star) will become a white dwarf (a small white dead star) other known as a white corpse. The white dwarf is small as a tennis ball and is faded white. In time the white will be black and the star will be no more. So, scientists believe that the sun will become a white dwarf and we will have no light, but we have a lot of time to find a new source of light. Thats why scientists research space!

Yes of course all those, but also for the fabled letter 'a' which we can stick in between the letters 'e' and 'r' in the word 'reserch'

Humans have a need to research the unknown. Curiosity about what we don't know about is one great quality's that man has. And to understanding the universe, we can try and help ourselves.

Western civilization is science oriented. Its the primary focus of all our intellectual labors. All sciences are pursued, including astronomy.

beacuse we need to fell less insignifigant. Space being so huge we feel the need to go out instead of stay here.
