I have several size 36 belts which measure 40-42 inches. I bought a 36 inch belt listed at sz 36 and it is too small.

use some measuring tape, to measure your waist, then write your size down and try some belts on until you find some that fit.

its like pants and shoes, different sizes differ by company. Like nike tends to make a shoes a size smaller than adidas
