He's very good talking to his customers but when my bf is talking to my daughter and I during supper he will start to say something but leaves the sentence incomplete. So then we have to prod him to finish his sentence.

Have you brought this to his attention. Maybe he is saying one thing, but thinking of something else as he goes along, and gets distracted by his second thought.

I'm not sure, but my dad was a carpenter and every room in our house had something he started but never finished. We had more bare sheet rock walls than painted ones. I guess it's because you do it so much for work, it's the last thing you feel like doing when you get home.

Probably just tired. Also, maybe his brain knows it's "off the clock" so it just stops working. Dancers are like that too. Fine in class or on stage. But in everyday life, we're some of the clumsiest people around.

He feels unsure of himself and is afraid of saying something wrong. Try to make him feel more at ease. He's more confident with his job than he is with you and your daughter.
