Zeros after other digits are irrelevant, so .080 =.08 =.080000000000000000 These are all the same, but .08 is greater than .008.
Of course, it's exactly the opposite case before a decimal point....

The number with the fewest zeroes between it and the decimal point will be the largest. What comes to the right of the number has no effect unless the numbers are the same.
e.g. .08888888 would be larger than .08000000 but smaller than .80000000.
