Do people deserve their governments?

It seems that most dictatorships were either elected or popularly emplaced at least initially. Hitler was elected democratically and most Cubans supported Castor's coup. Hugo Chavez recently won elections with overwhelming support, as do any number of corrupt African regimes. So do people deserve the govenments? Why or why not?

do we deserve( how would you get rid of it), any way you look at it we will always have some from of gov., there will all ways in any group be a leader.. as of right now I'm not a Libertarian, i believe there should be some from of gov, deserve= i don't think everyone should be penalize by some peoples views.....

no,, because many times people are oppressed,, not free to vote fairly,,, in the case of the USA,, and Bush,, Republicans deserve exactly what they got,, an over educated,, incompetent,, good ole boy,, a born-again Christian,,, and a fool,,, he has betrayed his own country,, he lied to invade Iraq,, he allowed Osama bin Laden to go free,,, out of cowardice and fear,,, he was obsessed with Saddam,,,,
since Reagan and the Jerry Falwell moral majority of evangelicals,, the religious right in the Republican party have been inserting themselves into our political system,,,,
you can see clearly the devastation and destruction they have caused in America and,, the world,, a bunch of sinners,, that hate,, lie,, corrupt,, endanger,, anything to advance their narrow-minded view of religion,, the KJV of the bible was re-written from the Geneva bible in 1611 by a King that condoned his own mother's be-heading for God's sake,,
the Islam and Christian religions are basically the same,, only the interpretators are different,, right wing radicals are brainwashed,,,, terrorist bombers are brainwashed,,,
it's so obvious to those of us who think clearly,, have free will,, and are not bigoted,,, or expected to follow their leader despite wrong or right,,, everybody does not have a conscious,, that's obvious as well,, some are indoctrinated,,
the right wing fanatics are terrified,, they know if George W, Bush is wrong and doomed to damnation,, that they will be too,,, many Republicans have wised up in the USA,, thank God,, moderates have seen the light,, and realize that their elected officials were of a mindset that was wrong,,
