Size is relative. Mathematically, 0.080 has a larger value than .080. However, 0.008888 can be said to have a larger number of significant figures and it also takes a larger amount of space to write out.

I am not a math genius but my guess is that .080 is is larger because the decimal is .00 on the second number.

How about coverting it to percentages. 8% is larger that .9% rounded off.

0.08 is larger because the 8's in 0.08 is in the hundredths place and the first 8 in the second number is in the thousandths place.

.080 because it has less zeros in the front. The zeros in the back doesn't count. The more zeros in the front the smaller the decimal.

That would 8 hundredths but .00888 is 888 thousandths. Don't be thrown off by more numbers just look at the decimal point.

.080 is bigger because the number is closer to the decimal point. If you had .01, it would be bigger then .008 because anything is bigger if a number that is over 0 is closer to the decimal point.
