I would imagine so. Here is the scoop on the new and old stadium:
Yankee Stadium is the home stadium of the New York Yankees, a major league baseball team. Located at East 161st Street and River Avenue in The Bronx, New York City, it originally opened on April 18, 1923. The first night game was played on May 28, 1946. For the 1974-1975 seasons, the Yankees relocated across town to Shea Stadium while Yankee Stadium underwent extensive renovations. It was reopened on April 15, 1976.
In 2006, the Yankees began construction of a New Yankee Stadium, to open in 2009. Most of Yankee Stadium is expected to be demolished at that time, leaving only the underground clubhouses as part of replacement park facilities.

It may be a better building... But it wont have all the greatness that has walked on the field since it first opeaned on April 18, 1923 with Babes Ruth three-run home run.
Yankee Stadium has been the scene of many of baseball's greatest moments. Babe Ruth belted his 60th home run here in 1927, and Roger Maris broke the single-season record with his 61st in 1961. It has hosted far more World Series than any other park. Two especially memorable World Series events took place here; Don Larsen pitched his perfect game October 8, 1956, and on October 18, 1977 Reggie Jackson hit three home runs on three consecutive pitches to win the Series in Game Six.

The new park has the same field dimensions as the old one, and the facade will be the same. They are even taking monument park out of the old stadium and relocating it to the new one. Now my honest answer is no, it won't be as good. Yankee stadium is where I took my children to see their first games. Being in the same stadium as the legends like Ruth, Gehrig, Joe D, Yogi, Mantle, and the rest is like no other feeling.

What's done is done . I personally will miss the old Stadium but times change and buildings age. The Yankees will go on to win another 26 championships in their new home and life will go on.
The one thing that I do wish they would include in the new stadium is a 461 ' to straight away centerfield dimension . That would be nice and the ghost of the Mick would approve of it

I have heard that while they are building a new stadium, they are not tearing down the old one...too much history. Would love to see a game played in the old one though!

I think it will probably only be better for the people buying luxury boxes and club seats, being that the old stadium does not have the ammenities for those types of people. While I am guessing they will keep the bleachers, and the tier seats will be closer, it will be very expensive.

It will probably be better but nobody will be able to afford it except maybe Rudy Giuliani and Mike Bloomberg. It's a shame they are taking down monument park. I think in the future, going to a ballgame will only be affordable to rich people. They should pay players based on performance, not reputation. Then maybe you would see A-Rod try a little. It would also be more affordable this way.

The reality of it is, yes, the new park will be a great place to watch a game. However from a historical perspective, nothing will ever replace "The House That Ruth Built"!
