what do you think is a good age for a navel piercing?

my daughter is 14 and she wants her navel pierced. alot of girls her age have one but i am not sure. what ya think?

i think its ok. my daughter got hers done when she was 15. she doesnt have alot of other piercings. she has two holes in each ear. i think its up to the parent. i think if you give them a little freedom to do things that maybe, just maybe they wont rebel as much. teenagers are great arent they? mine is anyway.

Yeah around 14 or 15 is an ok age. I would wait til she is 16 years old though. You seem like a cool parent, be supportive if not she will probably sneak and do it anyway

At 14 I think she is probably old enough. I am not crazy about it myself but my neice had it done at 16 and looks good. She does have a lot of problems with infections though so she needs to be responsible enough to make sure to keep it clean. Also, my personal opinion is that it looks disgusting on girls who are chubby. My neice is very thin with a flat tummy so it is okay. I'm just soooooo glad I have boys.

I allowed my daughter to get her piercing at age 16.
She is now 17 y/o and we are discussing a small tattoo and nose piercing. I am saying "no".
She turns 18 y/o this Fall....I told her it is then her choice to scar her own body.

Unless you think she's going to change her mind before she's 16, you might as well let her do it now. Either way, if she changes her mind when she's 30, it'll be too late to get rid of that little itty-bitty scar, so what's the difference.

i would let her have it done and i would say 14-16 is the age to get it to see if they even like it, aswell as if you don't get it for her she may just end up doing it herself and this runs risk in getting infected. and you can end up just taking it out and it reclosing so it can be like she never had it if you decide its not what you or/her want.
