Whenever I click on my shortcut for iTunes on my desktop now it always reinstalls and I have to go through the whole "Agreement" and installation. When it does come back up my songs are all gone. The only way I can stop this is by not shutting down my computer and just minimizing iTunes and always leaving my computer on. Any help with this would be great. Thanks

You are clicking on the shortcut for the program the installs itunes not the itunes shortcut so you basically are just reinstalling it. Connect your ipod and itunes should open automatically, if not click 'Start' on lower left of your pc, click 'All Programs', find 'iTunes' and click on it. Other ways: click on 'My Computer', 'C:', 'Program Files', 'iTunes', 'iTunes.exe'. To create a shortcut, right click the icon and select create shortcut, drag the shortcut to your desktop.

Yikes! This could be due to a virus or bug that has gained access to your computer through iTunes!

First, I suggest going to the apple iTunes website and emailing them with your concerns! Following their instructions afterwards, it ought to be sorted out! Mine acted a similar way earlier this year! i would also suggest, calling out the Geek squad or someone else who deals with computers for a living and have them check it out! Also, check your virus protection! Is it working perfectly?

After these things, your music should be safe!

seems like your shortcut is not shortcut but the actual itunes installtion, hence why it wipes out your settings / songs
