with students with learning disablities, Mental retardation, Emotional/Behavior disorders, or with physical disablities), here in the U.S. we call it Special Ed? Anyways, if there is, do you ever hire from the U.S. or do you know how Special Education works in Australia. Also, what do you have to do to become certified as a teacher in Australia. Just tell me what you know.

i teach primary school in new south wales australia, qualified teachers are always in demand for casual work across all fields of expertise, gaining permanent , fulltime employment may be more difficult, a degree from the US would probably be accepted by the department of education without any assessment or testing required. why dont you try a search on the internet for the separate departments of education for each state (new south wales, victoria, queensland, western australia, south australia, tasmania, northern territory and the ACT - Australian Capital Territory)

Providing that you can meet the educational requirements, then you should have no problem finding jobs in any kind of teaching within the government system. I know that Western Australia went recruiting for teachers in the UK recently.

Perhaps contact your nearest Australian consulate/office for info?
