The movie is about a woman who's husband, who's also her brother, dies at the start of the film, and she takes the children to live with her mother in some mansion. The children are kept in the attic with hardly any food and they poison the children in the powdered sugar for the pancakes in the morning. They want the children dead so she can marry a new man and start a new life.

"Flowers in the attic" I read the books before seeing the movie, they are written by V.C. Andrews, if you liked the movie, and if you like to read, you should read the first couple of the series, I got a little bored of the continuation of incest, but I did enjoy the first two books.
