Stop labelling yourself. What the heck does that even mean - I'm an "emo". You're a person with a multi-faceted personality, not some carbon copy of every other "emo" out there. The fact that you're not getting any respect at your new school is due to you limiting yourself to a very narrow view of who you are. Stop classifying yourself as some specific whatever, and just be yourself.

I know this is not the answer to your question but can you please explain what being emo means? I think that of course everyone wants to be accepted but do these people really matter? Pick out the few that stay by your side and tell the others good bye. It is ignorance that keeps people from expanding their network of friends to include people that are different. So they are the ones with the problem. I would not want to be their friend if I was you.

Boy, do I know what you mean! Ignore them, or fire back. Either way will probably get them to stop. Turn it into a joke, critique their style. Try and relate to people at your school, and maybe tone down the 'emo' look/personality for a while. If people can get to know you for you, then you'll be able to express yourself more freely.

Being in school especially high school and middle school is tough. If you express your feelings, they make fun of you. If you try to fit in, they call you a wannabe. My advice, be yourself and make friends with people with common interests with you. Once you have some friends, others wont judge you as much. Who cares if you emo? There's nothing wrong with that.

OK the best i can think of is just be your-self and if they don't like who u r then that is their problem because i am sure someone would like for who u r. i am also sure they r losing a great friend.

For all the people who think all emos cut their-self's that is not true because i don't and my friends don't.

From what I understand "emo"ism is more a trend among teens than an actual lifestyle. Guess, what? We're all emotional and most of us don't cut ourselves and talk about suicide to feel like we belong. Go to a counselor, talk to your parents, stop being dramatic and stop making everything all about yourself.

its really hard. i cant do it and i have only cut once. i lost all my friends and all this other stuff happened because of it. i dont think you can espically in junior high and high school where theres already prejudice. maybe find some people that can understand you instead of trying to make everone else understand that your a normal person. its going to be a lot easier just to find that one person

well i think that some girls find it hard to understand a person like you because you see the world differently then they do. like they want someone who think lie them. if their popular then they are going to be friends with the popular guy.
