I looked on the disney calander and it said that due to a private event disneyland would be closing at 4 pm.

I think you just answered your own question... "due to a private event"...

Maybe there's a movie opening or something. I've heard talk of Pirates 3 opening there, don't know when though.

I'm going with Sam A I think it is due to the World premier of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 even though it is in theater at the end of may.

However i did find this on the net, but it might not be reliable, but it could still be the US Premire that is shutting it down:

"he premiere of the new Pirates of The Caribbean film is being held at EuroDisney in France and
as such we have no further information,sorry."


or else someone is having an awesome Birthday Party!
or could have somthing being filmed there too!

It is the opening night of a huge travel agents convetion and Disneyland is probably using it to thank all of them for booking travel to Disney properties.

While it does close at 4pm it opens at 6:30 am and if you get there early you will probably have run of the park for at least a few hours.

I don't know maybe the premire of the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 that's all that I can think of.
