I used to work telemarketing and we never worked past 5 on a Saturday. It's almost 9 in the evening and a lady just called with a survey from Blue Cross. When I suggested it was a little late, she pointed out that it wasn't 9, it was 845 and was quite a jerk.

Well, most people are off work on the weekends. If they called on the weekdays, they wouldn't reach too many people.

The stupid management of telemarketing believes that you will be home on Saturday evening, and they further believe that you will answer the phone. In today's screwed up society, few people answer the phone because of caller ID, and most people don't want to be bothered during meal time or when they are having sex! Lastly, the telemarketing employees are only doing what they have been instructed to do by their superiors, and they probably aren't earning much more than minimum wage money. One must remember, now with the collaspe of immigration law enforcement, and millions of illegal and legal aliens invading our country, good paying jobs will become very difficult to find. Also, well qualified American citizens with good education credentials can't keep jobs, because of thousands of Indian nationals from India are coming to the U.S.A. to work for half the going wage. The U.S.A. is on fast track to be a third world nation.

This lady definitely doesn't have tact. On why telemarketing or surveys are done over weekends and in the evenings; it could be because they like to believe that these are the time when most people would be home.

Unfortunately it s probably because there is a good enough chance we re home at that time or it wouldn t be worth paying the telemarketers...
I think there 's a number you can call to have your number taken off a good part of their lists, cutting down the number of those calls significantly because you have the legal right I believe to not receive them.

because people are home in the evenings and those people want money, and people are weird strange crazy critters.not to feel sorry for bothering people at home,
I go door to door sales and have knocked after dark which is legal, if i need to pay a bill, right soon, and many people are busy doing something like washing dishes are watching TV are on the computer, but i still do make my living doing this and i am sorry i disturb them but i need money.ands it my way of doing it.as i cant work a regular job because of a bad back and neck and pain and just cant do it, i wish to God i could work like i used to.and didnt have to do what i do, but i have to live for Gods sake.I dont know why those people get a job calling people, but i always tell people who call for charitys i will them twenty dollars as i have been homeless and hungry.and i i will listen for a minute to someones sales line,i dont know why really.maybe because i sale.but if you dont wish for them to call, get that organization to put you on the no phone call list .then only charitys will call.

I truly have the comparable concern. I did submit a message on my internet site placed next to my telephone selection that solicitation became no longer welcomed and that my selection became listed on the do no longer call registry. i do no longer think that there is any incorrect thank you to give up it different than telling those people who they are going to be reported in the event that they do no longer do away with you from their call checklist. you may record the violations on the link decrease than. To record a grievance, they want the date you acquire the call, and the two the call or telephone form of the employer that referred to as you.

It's not that they "like"it.....it's a paycheck and you have to do what the company wants you to do. This kinda upsets me bc I am going to school and am pregnant and the only thing I can really do to fit in school and being pregnant is telemarketing but bc of people like you, I would rather sit here thinking about money instead of being there making it.

That is when most people can be caught at home. I used to print on my business card
"call 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM." I think calling anyone after 8:00 PM if it isn't a social call is rude.

It does get to be a pain, but sometimes I do go ahead and answer just to see who keeps showing up on my caller ID. I politely ask them to remove me from their calling list and tell them I do nothing over the phone and to put a stamp on it. If the information comes by mail, I give it to my Golden Retriever to carry back to the house. All junk mail is hers until we reach the trash can. (Then she gets a treat)

You are most likely home at that time. They just haven't figured out that most people will be more annoyed with them at that time.

Still, they are just trying to earn a living. Don't be too harsh on them.
