I think that it must.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.
While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.
Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.
I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.
I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.
I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.
Your brother don

There is no doubt that it continues.... Now the question is, have you lived a life that included Christ ( I am a Christian) I have to ask, because if you did then I am assured there are no tears in heaven, peace and light exist there....but if you live a life thinking that Christ was a made up character who only exists because, I don't know, unbelievers come up with so many excuses I cannot keep up, well anyway they will go somewhere not so nice because they were deceived by the father of lies....... make your choice wisely.

I think something happens. What we won't know until it happens but when I look around I think that it can't just finish. It can't be the meaning of life to be born, undertake years of education, then years of work and then death and the end. There has to be something else to it. There has to be a hidden meaning and answers. Because if it all just stops after around 80 odd years what is the point? It's too short a time.

My answer is "yes there is life after death" and it is based more on physics than on faith. Allow me to explain.
First, basic law of physics: ‘energy cannot be created, nor can it be destroyed, but it can be transformed.’
Energy always was and always will be. There is consensus amongst all notables of the physics/scientific world. It is, in fact....fact. With that out of the way, I provide you with a quick analogy:
Raw energy enters a generator, goes through wire and into a light bulb causing the light bulb to light up. The once raw energy is transformed into sophisticated light. Now we break the light bulb. Understand that thought the bulb is broken, the light it once emitted is still light and will travel on as light forever, despite the bulb being broken, and keep in mind, that light cannot be destroyed.
In summation, what was once raw energy is now and forever transformed into the more sophisticated energy form known as 'light'. Now, with these facts out of the way, let's move on.
What makes the human body alive is energy. It, like the light bulb, is nothing without base, raw energy. When we are first born, we essentially have no consciousness, our infant bodies, literally, running on unsophisticated, raw energy. We are unaware of our even existing. Through the temporary occupation of the human body, and the experiences it has in life, both good and bad, at some point, consciousness is attained. I would gauge gaining consciousness by asking when was your earliest memory? That earliest memory is when, I believe, we first become aware of what I would refer to as ‘self’. In other words, the energy that was once raw is, at that early stage, on the road to becoming ‘sophisticated’. It has gained the beginning of consciousness, and will, through its experience in the human body (‘light bulb’), along with life’s trials and tribulations, will become more and more sophisticated.
Let's put it all together now.
The body is the light bulb. Remember the light bulb will break, but the transformed energy (the light), goes on forever as light.
In the very same sense, the body will die, but the transformed energy (the conscience), goes on forever as the consciousness.
The consciousness is what many refer to as the 'soul'. Without a doubt, there is life after death.
Is there a supreme being? Some people cannot see the forest for the trees. Understand, the very fact they can ‘see’ and there is a ‘forest’ which is comprised of tree’s dictates there is a supreme being (the level of sophistication of the human body, alone, is overwhelming to all of science). There was a calculative study once done, I believe, by M.I.T. on the subject of the earth and all on the earth just happening by accident. The long and the short of the studies conclusion were, loosely, as follows. ‘The chances of this earth and all that live in it coming about by chance is the same as finding a full feature Kodak camera on the moon, naturally formed by its surface/environment…’
Just look at how unique this planet we live on, is, then compare it to the balance of planets within our solar system. You’ll find there are none like it. ‘It just…happened’? Not a chance. An unimaginably powerful being put this all together, and they did it from scratch…
Hope this helps.

I recently had some readings done by clairvoyants those connected with spiritualist Churches - Not backyards which I think are a fraud . They gave me names of my family members as you know generations change names theirs no way they can guess these or it becomes very evident that they are fishing
I would think that apart from the physical needs we have on Earth Sleeping eating sex , we would still be learning how people did things on the earth plane and we might have a deeper insight to their thought s an feeling s that were hidden on the Earth plane . I suppose we still have to avoid people we didn't like and would only carry over the amount of knowledge we had on the earth plane . it wouldn't seem right otherwise would it

When the body dies the essence (or soul, if you will) that animated it continues to exist. However, it, too, is part of a greater being or Self (called an Oversoul by some) so the personality that inhabited the body is no longer the primary focus of identity.

I died briefly. The last thing I remember is the doctor saying that my blood pressure was 30/zero.
Then I lost my ability to hear, then things went black and white, then I felt no pain.....suddenly I was traveling in that white bright light that other people speak about in near death experiences.
I can't begin to tell you the total lack of human need, insecurities, fear, pain etc. I was in total peace. I thought to myself....wow this is the day I am dying. cool. I really did think I would live longer, but this is ok. Then I thought about what I accomplished in my life. I saw each of my grandchildren's faces in my mind. When I saw the face of the youngest one I had a brief moment of hesitation about dying...suddenly I heard the doctor was calling my name and asking me to open my eyes and come back. Reluctantly I opened my eyes. Suddenly I felt pain and anxiety. I closed my eyes again to go back to the white light and it was gone...all I saw was darkness.
As a spiritual person I believe we are spiritual beings on an earthly journey. I can't begin to understand what the after life is. But, I know it is there.
I believe in God the creator and his promise of life everlasting.

Naturally, we do not know the answer and no one should answer it without hesitation, if you are saying "you go to purgatory" or "you reincarnate" you are simply an ignorant.
There is no certainty and many people think that nothing happens, you lose consciousness of everything. You can imagine it by trying to recall how it felt before you were born... right...
I personally don't have an opinion, and I think it does not matter, when you are dead, the world of alive no longer is your concern.
