before deciding which to buy, remember that a nintendo wii is a console to have along side a ps3 or xbox 360. its not really an alternative. I bought a ps3 on friday, its really good, free online gaming, demos to download for free, ps1 games available to download. and its only gonna get better. there is also the blu ray player. and blu ray discs are out selling hd discs 2:1. so ps3 is the way forward.

360 all the way once you've played gears of war online against the rest of the world you'll be changed for ever and ps3 is a rip off and is out of reach of most average joes who do sony think they are its a games console at the end of the day basically if every 1 shuned ps3 they'ed drop the price but no 1 will

ps3
bluray (200gb) on one disc. fact i got a special invite on wednesday to the sony show rooms in london, and this is what the disc can hold on an 8layer format. thinkabout the a.i and graphics and length that a game can handle!
Online is free! i'm writing this answer from my ps3.
wireless sixaxis controller as standerd. the motion sensors are awesome. shake off fire in resistance fall of man.etc
the operating system can be changed, linux is developing one exclusively for the ps3.
it has 60gb of memory and is compatible with any 2.5hdd through the usb. and theres four of those.
the ps3 has 8 processors which means it can run 8 different demanding programmes at once without slowing it down. in easier terms its like a pentium 8core processor in other words a super computer.
there are some great games on the way. gta, grand turismo, metal gear etc.
its unbelievably quite. it barely makes a peep.
yes it costs a bit of money but u get a full home entertainment system for your money.

I would highly recommend buying a 360. First of all, the 360 is all wireless and you can turn it on using a controller (really nice for ppl 2 lazy to get up and turn the console on by pressing the button). Also, with sweet games like Gears of War and the upcoming Halo3 a 360 would definitely be the better choice. The 360 can also play old xbox games, such as halo2. Finally, the 360 and all xbox systems can use xbox live, online gaming. You can play old arcade games and retro games like bejeweled 2, feeding frenzy, etc. on xbox live arcade. The 360 is also much cheaper than the ps3. Definitely go with the 360, trust me.

The 360 graphics are great, but the graphics and performance of the ps3 are much better.

Buy a 360 Pro kit, add-on HD-DVD and Web-Cam for less than the Basic PS3 !.
Now let me do the Maths on that one!

I would buy neither. I'd a buy a Nintendo Wii instead. I've heard its very interactive and fun to play and its also way cheaper than either the X-Box 360 or the PS3

PS3 has better graphics.
But there are more games for the 360.
I personally, would wait until prices plummet.
