I really appreciate the help guys, but I can't rub smelly stuff or something that might stain on my patio furniture, we have to be able to enjoy it as well.

get green apple spray- you can get it at petsmart or petco or places like that. it's safe for furniture and animals hate it. or get a dog or something that likes squirrels (not as friends)

In a humane way hmmmm... You could try putting some sort of feeder with nuts or seeds or something away from your patio, they would still be there but not eating your furniture, but it might be an expense you don't want to incur.

You can get a live trap. Or you can hang a bird feeder out away from your patio furniture, allowing squirrels full access to it. Filled with sunflower seeds. When the squirrels are not in the feeder you get birds.

Set up squirrel feeders. You can put nuts, bread crust, etc. in there. This will keep the little buggers away from your furniture.

Vinegar might help (it works with cats). I'm not sure how strong of an affect it will have on squirrels though.

Have animal control come out and place some traps and they will take the squirrels and relocate them to another place that suites their needs and lifestyle.

Try spraying full-strength lemon juice on the furniture. Most animals can't stand the citrus smell.

Spray OFF, or any insect repellent on them. That nasty taste should keep them away and possibly the mosquitos as well. Kill two birds with one stone.

Rub nasty tasting stuff on it like hot sauce or put pepper on it.
