How far would you be willing to let the President go in his pursuit of the War on Terrorism? What would be the point where you, personally, would say "Stop! Enough is Enough!" Would you allow him to arrest people who didn't agree with him and his administration's views? Would you allow him to dictate that anyone who publically protests or voices a differing opinion be locked up?

Would you allow him to put speakers in our homes, so that authorities could make sure we weren't undermining the war effort and spreading dissent and giving comfort and aid to the enemy?

How far is too far for you?

I see quite a few of you missed the point I was trying to make.

No, the President has done none of this so far, but so many people are so pleased with how far he *has* gone, I'm curious to know what would be "too far" for them.

He has already gone way too far. He has overstepped his Constitutional authority on many occasions in the guise of protecting the people of this country from terrorists. It's sickening, and it needs to stop.

As others have pointed out, the president has gone too far already. He has tricked the American people into believing that there was an immediate threat, so that we would pay the costs of war. The PATRIOT ACT is already way too far. Well, we can't ignore him, he does use "strategery."

As an American with a conscience and a powerful desire for the proliferation of human rights and social justice, I will continue to invest a great deal of energy into helping to expose the evils perpetrated by our government, as most of them have been white-washed from mainstream books and media. The bloated, corrupt government of the United States of America spends $500 billion per year on its "glorious" military industrial complex to ensure that it our Plutocratic rulers maintain their possession of much of the world's wealth and domination over the world. When they do provide military or financial aid to other nations, it is with the covert (and sometimes overt) purpose of furthering the interests of the Plutocrats, and often results in suffering and death for many (i.e. "collateral damage" caused by the US military operations). Hypocrisy reigns as the world's largest terrorist state perpetrates imperialistic wars like the one in Iraq under the banner of "moral superiority". That same "moral superiority enslaved a race of people and nearly decimated the indigenous population of North America . The sad part is that America could be the moral leader of the world. As a people, Americans need to find a way to meet our fellow citizens of the Earth as equals and to channel our vast resources toward bettering humanity and the planet on which we live.

I didn't realize we had so much power as to 'allow' the president anything! It really doesn't matter how much we are willing to allow as he runs the country and we don't. I really wouldn't trust us to the job and since he has the experiance, knowledge, and assumes the responsibliblty I'll allow him to continue on like he is as I don't have a better plan!

Been to an airport lately? The terrorists have won. We, as a nation, have run as fast as we could to give up our personal liberties in favor of a perceived safety from terrorists.

That is hard to answer as we haven't been fighting the "War on Terrorism" that we started out to do. As for the other questions you asked : No to all.

To be honest, President Bush has already gone too far. I'm not trying to offend the Republican party. I'm saying that it is time for changes weather it is a democrat or republican that gets voted in

Every thing you said would be to far. Unless the people that you are speaking of are terrorist then we should lock away as many of them as possible.
