What is the "best" brand of ELECTRIC guitars?

I like punk-rock music. And wish to play that kind of music (My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, Taking Back Sunday, Cobra Starship, ect.)

I've heard that Fender is a good brand. What do you think?

Number 1: That would be pop punk that you listen to (Grade A Garbage in my opinion), but It really depends on how much your wallet is willing to bleed, and what kind of tone you want to the guitar. Cheaper, but better-end guitars can range from Washburn, Fender Squire, Epihione or however it's spelled. Ibanez cuts come good deals for class-worth guitars, I own an RG myself.

If your aiming for an edgier sound, get something with double humbuckers. If your looking for a wide-array of tones, get a stratocaster. The Gibson and Fender higher-ups cost alot, but they are ment for proffesional muscians, or yuppies who think a costly guitar will make a difference. Even a 200 dollar guitar can play good old punk. Punk isn't about what equipment you have - But how you play it.
Yet in your case, I'd suggest anything from a stratocaster made by squier, or the main branch of fender, to Ibanez, and Gibson if you've got the cash. Stick with Washburn, Squier, Ibanez, BC Rich, and all those if you want a good guitar for little money.

Fender and Gibson are two of the best known brands.. however I have a Samick, and it's really awsome!
Also, i think Gibson is coming out w/ electric guitars especially designed for girls - it will weigh less, have a thinner neck, etc.

fender sounds good. go to their website. if not fender, then choose a different kind.

i would have to say fender and gibson sooooooo yah, my dad even said that and hes pretty advanced ont that kinda stuff.

For quality i would say gibson. but for a very good quality and cheap prices i would go with ibanez. thats what i have and im very satisfied with it
