First, lets get one thing straight. 99% of the time, murderers NEVER warn their victims. They dont want any issues with the police before the murder and they sure dont want issues with the police after the murder. Criminals as a whole are usually stupid about every other aspect of their crime but they at least try to keep it a secret.
Those who make threats are more often than not...FULL OF CRAP, and they want to instill fear into you, and have an affect on your daily life. Those who constantly threaten usually end up meeting the cops or a judge sooner or later with a Victims protective order put on them, but they are always loud barkers and never bite. The ones who threaten are the cowards who will key your car, and pour sugar in your gas tanks.
A good indicator might be "Has this person killed anyone else or even come CLOSE to killing someone else? Has this person ever killed a dog or cat for no reason?"....
If the answer is yes to any of those theres a good chance this person could kill you without making many threats.
The older a person is, their past tells you more about them. If you are dealing with someone young, then what I said above still stands.

you don't really,, if you feel threatened,, call the police,, that's what their there for,,,, but very under maned now because of Bush's invasion of Iraq,,, 88% of our National Guard are not trained for combat,,, over 500 million spent in the war on terror,,, our country is in turmoil,, people are nervous and upset,, many are afraid,, when people are afraid and scared,, they lash out with anger,,, an open dialog is the best way to stay safe,,, be informed,,, be vocal,,, be safer,,,

Anyone with the ability and has motive, intent and opportunity or is of diminished capacity. The question is very broad and there are not enough facts to give you a good answer. If you want a good answer ask a good question.

Most of us would know if we had enemies with such strong hatred of us that they would kill us. I don't have known enemies and no one has anything to gain by my death. I'm sure there are people who dislike me, but enough to kill me without me even suspecting it? Real unlikely.
