I checked out a comparison at the AMD website to see what the major differences are. They refer to them as MT-34 and MT-37 but they appear to be the right ones you indicated.

It does not appear that they are much different. Looking at the two, the AMD MT-34 has a little less operating speed to it (1.8GHz vs 2.0GHz) and consumes less energy (24W vs 25W) which means that your battery may last a bit longer and the CPU probably won't get as hot if you choose the MT-34. On the other hand, you have 0.2GHz less processing power.

If it were me for the $100 difference, I'd go with the lower end one, but that also depends on what software you plan to run on the laptop. Check the software package and if you see "Minimum requirements" or "Recommended requirements" are suggesting a higher speed CPU, odds are it will help that package perform better.

Depends on what you want the machine for, but even for CPU intensive apps like audio/video encoding you wouldn't see much of a difference. If the 2nd chip also had a faster fsb or more L2 cache then it would be worth the $100.

The best place you could put that $100 is into RAM. That will help all programs you run, and it will use your hard drive less and make your battery last longer. If you already have the Ram maxed out, get a better or second battery. After that invest in a VERY protective and comfortable carry case. The Swiss Army laptop backpack get my vote.

Yes there is a difference not a big 1. The first 1 works at 1.8ghz and 2nd 1 is 2 ghz so The second is little faster by .2 Ghz

The second one is faster, but not by much. The ML34 runs at 1.8GHz and the ML37 runs at 2.0 GHz. Small difference. It almost isn't worth it to drop $100 for a 0.2 GHz difference.
