No do not buy it with windows Vista, it does not meet the requirements to run the operating system.
The processor is okay, a bit slow, but okay.
The ram would run XP just fine, but not Vista.
The hard drive is very small by today's standards, and Vista would be using about 1/3 of the total disk space, once all the updates are installed.

The unit may be cheap, but you are better to buy an XP system and even that with more RAM.

Steer clear of the system in the link you have provided.

The system may well be a good one, as we don't have enough infomation to rate it, but it is running with bare minimal components, even for an XP system. If you were to buy, consider it needs more RAM, it needs more Hard drive and what else we cannot tell from the ad. Add $150.00 to $200.00 for upgrading, now it is not such a good deal.

Stay away from vista its a pain. The computer is so cheap because it doesnt have half of the memory needed to even start it. It has 400 some mb of ram. The minimum is a gigabyte of ram. That pc is a complete rip off and i would throw it through the front window of that store. I feel sorry for anyone who buys that piece of junk. Give Vista a few years to work out some of the bugs(of course microsoft will never get the big ones out) You are better just getting windows xp. Please do not get that pc it is a gigantic rip off.

Make sure the computer has at least 1GB of RAM installed. If it only comes with 512MB get an extra 512MB. Then you should be okay. But looking at the ad, I don't think it will take Vista. You can get a proper Vista loaded new PC from Dell.com for around the same price.

I am reading more and more things about Windows Vista. It's not very reliable
and if you want to run some programs that you put in, they won't work. I would
rather stick with Windows XP as I have never had a problem with it. I think that
you need to do some research on it before you buy. Good luck.
