I've only watched bits here and there of the show, but I read an article about the really graphic murder pictures that were taken, and I'm completely appalled by them. Why would the show want to do this? Does anyone know what the reasoning was behind the choice of pictures?

The reason they gave was about posing. Earlier they had learned how to vogue (doing certain movements to create a great pose). Mister J wanted the girls to do a pose where there would be no movement whatsoever. So the crime scene photos were done. To give them some for of motivation (I guess), the models were told to think of a back story to their picture. Since none of them get along with Renee they made comments like" Renee was so jealous that my pictures look better than hers so she pushed me off of the building" or "Renee was so jealous that I won the challenge that she cut me open and took my heart"
Yeah they were pretty bad, especially the ones where they used the makeup to make it look like they had been cut up and beaten.
What seemed to make things even worse was Jael had just recieved word last week that her best friend had died from an overdose. In Jael's picture she was supposed to have OD'ed. She had a really hard time doing that. Poor thing.

I thought it was creepy and tasteless myself but the challenge for the models was to be photographed as a dead person, and still project into the lens and not act like a lifeless fish. To make it interesting they set up a story for each picture that each model got murdered by another model. That way the models would have some fun with it and the hair and makeup people could create a different image for specifically for each model.

Well its Art , I know I love Pict I looked at them you are right that young teenagers probably should not be subjected to them she should be scrutinized but I think the actual photos are good,and a interesting session

My Gosh, that was disgusting. Why did they do that. (I like Trya's talk show, but I don't watch American's Next Top Model.) I guess, that shows the model's tatent. *Yuck* I don't know.

It's probably because none of them know how to pose or take pictures so they just let them lye there and look pretty.
