This is in the eating out category, but it seems you want more than just info on eating out. Just because you are in the Valley it doesn't mean you can't go over one of the passes and see the rest of Los Angeles. Head over to around the Page museum and see the dinasours, not real ones, stuck in the mud, and take a look at the museum, it's quite interesting. Head over to Fairfax and go to the market over there, it's a hoot. Go to the museums, there are a number of good ones. Take a walk down Rodeo and the streets on either side, not to shop, but just to look, it's a lot of fun. Take one of the silly tours of the houses of the stars. Go to the Fredricks of Hollywood Museum in Hollywood, they have underwear of famous people, quite funny, even my husband liked it. Take a drive along the shore from Santa Monica on up to Malibu.
Take a drive up to Napa for the day.
Go to Disneyland. Go to Universal Studios. There is so much to do.
I guess it helps that I have a husband who is a native of Beverly Hills and have gone as a tourist for about 8 years and have always done things while I've been there.
It's also fun to just hang out in West Hollywood and watch people go by. There are endless amount of things to do. I don't know the Valley very well, but I've driven around and seen some cute little areas to shop and stop to have coffee and eat. I'm sure you can get a map that lists everything that there is to do. Head up to Ventura, they have the best minature golf game I have ever seen.

A lot depends on your age and your interests. Their are Museums, Live theaters, movie theaters, San Grabrial Mountains, the beach, various parks and lakes. Eating places from horrible to ultra fantastic. Bars and Nightclubs. Special events nearly every week-end. Check out the enter tainment section of the L.A. Times. You can drive to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and Magic Mountain. Drive up the coast to Cambria and another day, down the coast to San Diego. You live in an area rich in culture and diversity. Enjoy.
