Because not everyone believes sex is just for procreation. That is like asking why people have sex if they're just going to wear a condom anyway.
Not everyone wants children.

A lot of women get pregnant while using birth control and a lot of women get pregnant while having non-consensual sex, i.e. rape. Some women choose to abort a fetus that is severely deformed or one that won't survive outside the womb.
To think that the only women who get abortions are those who are choosing to be irresponsible and not use any form of birth control is ignorant and very one-sided. I'm sure that's what the other side (pro-lifers) would have you believe, but the world isn't black and white. Use some common sense and weigh all varying senarios!
Either way, it's up to each individual woman to decide what is best for her and as long as she has a choice, it's a choice for her to live with!

Sex is a good thing when done between two consenting responsible individuals in a healthy relationship...however, abortions should not be used to as birth control. There are many options to prevent an unwanted, surprise pregnancy, go to free clinics, buy condoms, or use the patch, the needle or pills to prevent a pregnancy. Get informed about your options. The answer is not abortions but the prevention of an unwanted pregnancy.

well if you don't want to get pregnant then don't have sex at all. knowing that you are going to get an abortion it's just wrong because you are suppose to be responsible for your actions. you need to think twice before you would actually make a mistake of your life. i know for a fact that i wouldn't get an abortion. so that is the way i think about this question.

The point having sex is not just reproduce it is also for pleasure and people do use contraception but it fails and getting sterilized is harder for women then men women have wait till 21 and least have 2 kids even then its a pain in the butt.

I understand where you are coming from and i myself didn't believe in abortion if someone is going to have sex and doesn't want kids then why not get on birth control or use a condom. sex is great but be responsible

I dont know and I ask myself the same thing all the time when I hear or see people having abortions. I think if you are willing to lay down and have sex you should be willing to stand up and take care of a child or at least give it to someone who will! abortions should be illeagal!!!

well not every sex incounter leads to a baby. and people that have abortions usaly regret it i have a friend who had one becase she was young and her family forced her. most women get P.A.S.S from the abortion. so i think you should rethink your question .... have a great day!
