Yes, I'm 18 years old, and I plan on waiting until marriage, so I think it's great that you've decided to wait as well. I think it's really worth it in the end. You might find it rewarding later on, if you share this moment with the one person you want to spend the rest of your life with; your husband.
I don't think people choose to be abstinent to appease other people, but apparently one of the answerers thinks women are that insecure about other peoples' opinions of them. But you see, it's really not true. Abstinence has so many benefits, besides the obvious ones of avoiding pregnancy and STDs, you get to share that intimate moment with the person you will spend the rest of your life with. :)

I'm 20 and my BF and I are both still virgins.
It is a commitment we made to ourselves and each other.
Even with the probability of marriage within a year or so, we're happy with how things are, and that is what is important.
Sex doesnt fulfill you. A lot of people think it does, but it doesnt. The satisfaction lasts only for a little while until you need/want it again.
What is satisifying is knowing the person you love isnt after you just because he wasnts "something", that he is genuinely interested in who YOU are, and that you can be each others best friend, and be happy with one another.
And regardless of what other people say, something you see as special to you is NEVER "retarded".

I am married now. I did take True Love Waits classes and made the committment but it was broken with my first Christian boyfriend at age 17. There are so many temptations in life and I fell for it. I do regret what happened, but at the same time I do not regret it. I say this because my life changed after what happened with my first boyfriend and I wouldnt have taken the path I did in life without my mistake. If I didnt make my mistakes and take the path I chose I wouldnt nmot have met my husband.
I am so happy.
I would strongly encourage that you do your best to save yourself and pray to God about it. It is rewarding if you do save yourself. And you can be happy that you can share that moment with your spouse.

I am 19 and I am not a virgin...sex is part of life...some people take it more seriously then others...sex is an amazing thing...and shouldn't be taken for granted because making mistakes with sex can cause a whole lifetime of pain...emotional as well as physical...but I have always been safe...and don't have sex with just anyone...and I give props to who ever is a virgin and has been able to keep themselves a virgin with having a boyfriend/girlfriend

You aren't weird, trust me I was virgin until I got married to my husband who was also virgin we deiced to keep ourselves virgin till marriage because we felt it was the right thing to do. It was a very wonderful feeling to walk up to the altar knowing I deserved to wear the white dress, feeling pure. I am 19 years old and got married just 2 months ago. I was with my boyfriend for 2 years but still kept myself virgin. I know its hard but it feels good it makes you feel proud. But that's just me. If a guy truly loves you he will wait for you or at least try his hardest to.

im 18 and a virgin. ive had chances to have sex, but i did not take them. i just dont want to have sex.. i dont have the desire. i do masturbate, though. i masturbate everyday.... but thats different. i think the closeness with another person bothers me. i basically keep myself away from intimate situations. i suppose its a personality ... disorder?
being a virgin or having a partner are not concerns for me. i could care less... i think i'd be fine if i died a virgin. no biggie.

I am still a virgin. And VERY proud of it. I have no boyfriend, but the pressures are still there. I do not think you are wierd. I think it is great you have not given in and are waiting.

Nope, I'm married with 2 kids.
Delay sex if you choose, just be sure you're doing it for your reasons and not to appease anyone else. Same goes for having sex.
