He seriously wants to start a contest April 1st .... we both feed our parents as much family gossip as we can (and who delivers the information first is crucial), and he thinks that whoever gets the most gossip in will recieve a bigger present at Christmas.

He's got it all planned out ... a scoring system, time lines, etc.,

What do you all think? Think he is right?

We are in our early thirties with divorced parents.

You have to take advantage of this as well, don't let him make all the rules. And it depends what time of gossip. And I don't think gossip really does get you guys bigger presents at Xmas. I know people in their twenties and thirties that they're parents STILL only send gifts if they quote 'behave well' as in, don't talk back, visit, be nice, help around the house from time to time... but its your choice. I think your brother is just trying to have fun.

This sounds so ridiculous! I thought you were both young teenagers until I read how old you both are.
