Every year before using it , I change the oil, air filter and spak plug. I drain any old gas and take the blade off to get it sharpened. Anything more than that I take it to a small engine repair facility

I dont think theres much to tuning up a mower. A new spark plug once every season...most people dont change a plug every year but theyre cheap so go ahead. Either washing the air filter out or change that to. But most importantly...change the oil atleast 2 times a mowing season.

Once a year should cover it unless you use it for business where you would have to increase frequency of tune-ups accordingly.

in the spring put a new spark plug in it . in the winter you want to fill it with fuel and fuel stabilizer like Sta-Bilâ¢. run that through the lines and and put it away where it wont freeze terribly in the winter. if you didnt do that last winter, drain the fuel and fill it with fresh.
