is it me or does the Devils/Islanders rivialry not seem as intense as say Devs/ Rangers or Devs/Flyers. my theory is that mutual enemy in between them.

Oh BTW I forgot to mention I'm a diehard Devils fan myself. And of course I have family members rolling in their graves because I have forsaken the Rangers, but oh well.

Rangers/Islanders is the biggest rivalry, followed closely by the Rangers/Devils. Rangers/Devils is a great rivalry, but if you've been to a Rangers/Islanders game (and I've been to both rivalries, at MSG for both, the Meadowlands and the Colliseum), there is slightly more intensity there, even if one or both of the teams happen to suck that year, lol. Devils/Flyers and Rangers/Flyers are big rivalries as well, but after the last two Rangers/Flyers games with Fedoruk, I'm going to have to give the edge to that one now....though the Flyers suck this year, so bleh.
I don't know why, but Devils/Islanders never seemed to even come close, and I could probably name 20 better rivalries in hockey than that. My only guess would be that everyone knows the real "NY" team is the Rangers, so nobody outside of Rangers and Islanders fans give two craps about the Islanders.

im also a diehard devs fan and i think there is a bigger intensity between the rangers n devs.... there game are always good and the fans are getin into fights and i love it!!! i can sometimes ( rarely) change the channel while watchin devs/ flyers or devs/ islanders there is such a thing between the devs and rangers that is just amazing

Well I'm a Flyers fan and I believe that the Devs/Flyers rivalry is one of the best. Maybe because the Islanders hasn't been one of the best teams in a few years maybe that's why it hasn't heated up.

Islanders and Devils don't have that big of a rivalry imo, Islanders have more of a rivalry with the Rangers

No sorry. im a die hard devils fan..if u ask anyone the main rivalry is against the rangers. DEFINITELY. then i think it might be a tie with the flyers and islanders..but we always chant "flyers swallow" at games besides the traditional "rangers suck". I dont remember anything about the islanders.

The Devils/Rangers rivalry cannot be beaten by any rivalry in the league!!! As for the devs/ flyers rivalry, its because, there has been history between the two clubs, always fighting and hating each other to death. the devs/iles rivalry hasnt been really effective, it just seems that they play a regular game everytime they meet!!!

my dad likes the devils sooo much
but im in the same class as nolan stevens(coaches son) flyers
so it was jersy day and i were a devils jersy and they made fun of me
(stupids there on the bottom of the list and the devils r 3rd or somthin)!!!!!
its definetly a rivlery between flyers
rangers same my dad loves devils
my poppy (moms dad) loves the rangers
i went to a devils hocky game he got all mad that i didn't go to the rangers game with him and he started saying how much better thr rangers r
islanders same as with my poppy but with my uncle

this Devils/Islander rivalry is good but the best rivalry is the Pens/Flyers every time they play it's crazy....
