***KNOWING HOW GEORGE LUCUS HAS REMASTERED, DELETED, AND ADDED EDITED FOOTAGE OVER THE YEARS...IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT HE PROBABLY WILL RELEASE A BOXED SET WITH ALL SIX EPISODES IN IT...JUST FOR THE SAKE OF MAKING MORE MONEY OFF OF THE STAR WARS MOVIES...NOT LIKE HE HASN'T MADE ENOUGH ALREADY.***

The technical answer it this: There are two current rumors: 1. Lucasfilm is working on yet another special edition set with more "updated" special effects; 2. Lucasfilm is working on a 3-D version of the movies. Look for a big announcement during the convention Memorial Day weekend. Whichever version they make, I expect a 6-pack release later this year.
The practical answer is this: YES, Lucasfilm will do anything to make more money, and selling more DVDs will make them more money.

George Lucas has officially said that he would never re-release the original trilogy. This is why there was such a big deal of the last release. In other words, Lucas said he wouldn't, but he's broken his word on such matters before, so I'd guess it might happen in the next few years.

Lucas says no, Lucasfilm says maybe, fans beg for more...

Eventually. Their probably trying to make the movies HD right now. They moved the original trilogy to DVD so I assume there going to have a six movie collectors edition thing.
