Yes i sure should tell them about it because i believe in complete honesty and this also lets them know about the past pains and abuse and how you handled it and if you are healed from it or not... It lets them understand you and what you have been through in life. I told my husband all about my past before i married him and he still loved me no matter what and it did not make him think any less of me in any way. If the guy did not understand and love me for who I was in spite of the past abuse they would not be the right one for me and my life anyways and they would not even be worth my time.

Yes I would want them to know. A lot of times when children are abused, they develop ways of coping that may not be of the norm and I'd want my spouse to understand the quirks I may have and why I have them.

Why would that even make you question staying in a relationship with someone? If you are that unprepared to accept difficult issues like that, which isn't even the person's fault, then you really aren't ready and mature enough for a serious relationship to begin with and need to look at your own issues.

no i would not want them to know, because people read all kinds of stuff into it, even think if they marry someone who was abused, that it may not make for a very good marriage. i would not tell them, but i would try and get some therapy if there were any unresolved things, because it can affect your future.
