I'm American and assume that brits pronounce things more correctly than we do, since it's the "English" language, but why do they add an "r" sound after words like "India", "Idea" and "Ikea"?

I'm not trying to say there is a "correct" way to pronounce anything... I know that people from different part of the English speaking world have their own way to pronounce things... I just wonder where the "r" sound comes from and are the people who do this conscious of it?

I have never heard the word India pronounced as Indier, however I have heard the pronunciation "idear" for "idea" as well as "soder" for "soda".
Based on your explaination, I think you are saying that there is a short vowel sound of an "a" at the end of the words you listed. Every nation has different dialects of the same language - this is due to education in a particular area, socio-economic growth, interaction with different generations, and sometimes even a need to be "different".
