I am almost 45 years old, work 7 days a week for minimum wage and seem to be going nowhere. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, but sometimes I have to wonder if there's not an easier way?

45 is when your life only starts! You only start truly live after you turn 45. At Cal-state university where I am at, there are many people in my class who are in their 50s earning the degrees! They all graduate, and they all get good jobs after graduation. They also have fun life in college. You are at the perfect age right now to go to college and advance your education. Most people start with a community college; You don't have to pass the tests to get in, everyone gets in. And then, as soon as you complete your AA there, you can automatically transfer to a university (with no admissions tests taken) and get your bachelors in just two more years. Or you can transfer right away after completing just the required math and English classes. There are many people of your age in college and you are much younger than them! They are all having fun, direction, and purpose. You will graduate in your early 50's and will have at least of 15 years left of a good career! The first year will be hard, because of the adjustment period of being back to college. But people do it, and they love it!!

it's not too late to change things up in your life...you still have time to get some schooling, or train in a new job...look for something that challenges you!
