Or father of the church.
I was thinking if they could spice up the way the church is, like have more fun.
I dont mean to disrespect the house of god or anything, its just a suggestion.
We could have barbques and clap our hands when we're at church and sing and throw church festivies.

At my church, its qeuit and nobody really does anything but just sit there and its kinda boring.
I know i have to love God and go to church for him but its just a suggestion.

It is - because the service is not meant to be entertainment for the congregation, but instead an act of worship for God.

If boredom is the main problem, you could learn a little more about your faith and the meaning behind the gestures and symbols used in your service to make it less boring. Or perhaps prepare for the service by reading the readings beforehand to help you concentrate. Good luck!

Depending on your church, it may or may not be received well! You can suggest it, but realize that you may not be taken with an open mind.
If not, then try to find another church that is more to your liking. There are tons of churches to choose from, and many of them do the types of things you are talking about.
I know if I suggested that to my church, they would have a fit. In fact, I am quite certain that they would rather shut those Episcopalian doors than have clapping and stuff in church.
Really, I think it will depend on the church and its perishoners. Good luck though!

Is there any kind of Youth group, if not you could start one or choose a friend who is social and suggest it to them.
Talking to the Priest can certainly be helpful, but I would suggest you approach him as someone who wants to find other ways to celebrate the joy of God-not because it is boring even though it may well be. Also take an elder along with you who supports your ideas. If any other church in a similar denomination has such things, use them as an example.
I think it is very cool that you want to make a positive difference. Good luck to you.

i wouldnt use the word boring in your explination. but go for it. whats the worst that could happen? they can't kick you out of the church. barbeques are a great way to bring togethor a church community as well as give people a chance to make friends. i suggest you start with something small that you think should change if you dont know the priest well....but if you know the priest well then you should definatly go for it. maybe the rest of the church community is too shy to suggest anything. so yeah. go for it either way. church shouldnt be boring. it should be about love and you cant really love someone by just sitting there

Yes, church can be quiet and boring! I went to a church once that allowed a period of time for people to stand up and talk about something that they were grateful for. This broke up the quiet and gave us all something to look forward to. The minister usually had a topic and the people would say something around his topic. It helped to make his message more clear and more personal. It's great for creating a community feeling in a church and the barbecues will be a natural outcome of that! You might start by telling him how much you enjoyed his sermon and tell him something from your own life that it has helped. A suggestion of "testimonies" (sharing) can follow this. You may have to asked more than once and have other's suggest, as well. This will go over better than asking for more fun. It is more in line with what he is trying to do...give a message. The fun will follow, in time, once everyone become more familiar with one another. This type of sharing builds trust and a family-like atmosphere. Good luck!!

Hi!!

No, it is NOT rude,at all!! It shows you care, and are willing to do more to attract other youth and move on with time.

If you priest if smart enough, He will follow on your request, and should make you the head of the "REVIVAL OF THE CHURCH"!!!!!

You can even suggest that to him, and the ones that are responsible.

I am a Cristian and I know how very important is to move with times!!! While keeping the tradition, and respect in the church.

GOOD FOR YOU!! There should be more youth like you around going to church, and making desicions also with the supervision of the "ELDERS"

GOD BLESS YOU & HAPPY LIVE

A.Z.

I wouldn't do that... I would however look for a church that would be a better fit for you.... On the other hand....If you know the father really well then suggest something more like a pot luck/barbaque type of thing for further fellowship after church.... that I would see nothing wrong with but just don't try to change something like the lady in the front pew... or something... because in that case I would go elsewhere....

TRADITIONS!
You cant make the priest change or see the need for change-that's God's responsiblitiy.

You are not lawfully bound to stay at that church or in that denomination. It may have been suitable for your parents, but not you. Find a chucrh that fill your needs and expectations before you become so bored you dry up. I left my family church over years ago and am glad for it. Went from baptist to non-denominational. Seek and you will find!

I agree with you that church could be a bit more fun, but I don't think the priest will really appreciate your suggestion. Maybe you should start a petition or something. Good luck!

How about you try out some other churches. They are all different, and some do exactly the kinds of things you are suggesting.
