I think you have to be specific with your question. That is, what do want to base your "best" on? Economy? GDP? Unemployment?

I am bias but Australia;we are a young island nation and don't share our borders with anyone,we have a great medical system for everyone,we have a large amount of natural resources for the future,our government seemed to be able to deal with China and Japan easily,we always are there when the chips are down to back our allies,we are working hard on our multi-culturism and hopefully have learned from other countries mistakes,we are starting to appreciated the contribution our indigenous people can bring to our country,we love our country with a passion we are proud and grateful for all who have fought and died for it as will be
evident when we march on Anzac Day to remember them, we love our sports and we still have a great sense of humor.We do have some problems as all countries but we are all working hard to make Australia a place that everyone wants their children to grow up and be proud of no matter what color or faith they are.All in all my heart is filled with pride for a small nation with a large heart.

Japan, if you take into consideration peace, security and discipline...but you`ll hate the encroachment and lack of space. If you have a Japan in Australia with American culture(except drugs or arms) you are in heaven..
