A friend of ours has died and instead of flowers I want to buy a tree (lasts longer and is very eco friendly) obviously...but I do not know where to get one. I live in the middle of no where...Gunflint Trail, grand marais, Minnesota. We have a florist but that is it. Duluth is the closest big city. Does anyone know where I can find a tree or maybe on the internet...I can not do one that is too expensive, I also like burning bushes. Please help!

I think a weeping cherry is the most beautiful tree around. It flowers pink in the spring, then looks exactly like a weeping willow. I think it is very prophetic. Doesn't need a lot of water, and you can probably get one off of ebay for around $30 delivered.

Burning bushes are invasive, so you may want to avoid them because when you are no longer around to control it, it will be a problem for someone else. How about a cherry, or magnolia, or even a small-fruit crabapple, with the amazing flowers and then lots of singing birds around it. They have them at the Duluth nurseries, which are here http://www.google.com/search?q=duluth+mn+tree+nursery

If you buy on the internet you'll wait FOREVER for it to be big enough to look at.
