There is, in fact, no scientifically compelling evidence for the existence of "races".
I prefer to believe that human behavior and characteristics are based on how the child is cared for, from birth to 20 years old. Those that are read to and talked to more will someday recieve higher test scores; those that live in urban environments are less likely to be loners. A belief otherwise is a rejection of most of modern sociology and science.

Are you referring to phyiscal or cultural characteristics? People are people wherever you go (all countries, societies have good, bad, smart, stupid, honest, dishonest people). However, I think you can generalize to a degree as to how someone might act in some situations (e.g. dating, friendship expectations) based on where they are from. By that I imply you can guess that a Chinese person from China has different outlooks than an American-born Chinese, for example.

There are more differences within each race than between them. The only things that race may predict are about appearance. Given the amount of pain, hate and suffering that the idea of race has caused, it would be good if the human race got rid of the concept. When I am asked about my race I answer human.

I think there may be more evidence to support societal characteristics instead of race. This is what most are getting at when they speak of characteristics of race, when in fact it is a characteristic of social standing that share more common characteristics than that of race.
