Libertarian - let the government handle matters for large groups of people, and let the individual decide for themselves what is right and wrong. Fiscally conservative, morally liberal (the real meaning of liberal, not the swear word that many conservatives have turned it into).
Liberal as in, I have no right to tell you what to do as long as you aren't damaging me. You can do to yourself whatever you want. Get rid of consensual crimes, they aren't crimes (victimless crimes such as buying, selling and doing drugs, and prostitution). Just because I don't want to participate in these activities doesn't mean I can't see that its ridiculous to continue to make "war" on them.

Spending and taxes should outweigh the importance of your views on the social side of the equation. Low spending and low taxes could not be farther from reality for the Dems. Unfortunately, the Repubs have lost their way with regard to spending. Higher taxes will be the dumbest thing a party could impose, but that never seems to get in the way of the Dems.
Spending is going to sink this country soon, and lower taxes have led to significantly higher tax receipts, but you will never hear the Dems advertise that fact to their constituents. They will raise taxes and spending, regardless of the consequences.

Since the current administration is neither, you should look to a moderate Democrat.
Republicans used to be for small government and fiscal responsible spending, but our worst president ever Bush has completely thrown that out the window. As long as he mentions 9/11 and Jesus every few minutes 30% of the country think he's great.

you have to find the candidate that will best suit your needs and desires for our Beautiful Country. You may vote for a different presidential party ever 4 years. Actually, if more people did that, we might actually vote in some real progress!

You sound educated and like you would pick the person whom you feel bests fit the job. It's hard to get candidates who are getting to fit everyone's personal nuances, so it is a chance to pick whomever fits the best.
There is a lot of disenfrachisement in America and I think a lot of it relates to class and education levels.

You are definitely a Libertarian. We believe in freedom in personal matters--govt don't create rules for how we live beyond safety and defense--although I am pro-life. I support legalizing drugs, etc.
