It wouldn't be humane to the poor lion. They need open space to roam. They are not domesticated and can be unpredictable. Possible but very wrong.

When I was a little girl we actually had a female lion as a pet she lived in the house with us (We lived in the city and my dad paid lots of fines). She was sweet and very affectionate. However, I don't believe they make good pets. 1st they can become very dangerous. They have not been domesticated. They are wild animals and have wild animal instincts. When Kitty got to be about 6 months old she was well over 100 lbs and had claws that could kill a human and instinctively she liked to pounce. It was a game that a normal lion cub would play in the wild, she just did it to humans she would hide and when someone walk by pounce on them. She never did it to be mean but it was dangerous. When she became nervous about large groups of people she bit.
2nd They need a well balanced diet, that most if not many are unable to afford. And even when able to afford it most are untrained in providing a properly balanced diet. There aren't any prepared formulas you can go and buy.
3rd Most people are able to keep them until they reach puberty. They go through hormonal changes and by this point are extremely large. They can become aggressive and irritable. Extremely dangerous when you have a hormonal aggressive irritated super predator in your home. Once they reach puberty, people get rid of them and at this point they don't fit in well with another pride. Humans have been there pride and you throw them in with a pride of lions and they are the odd man out they never learned how to be lions.
So no, I think owning a wild animal is unfair to both you and the lion.

Well I'm pretty sure that is illegal. But.........
If you had it since it was a cub and you brought it up and always spent time with it, it would bond with you, sort of like a second mum. If you always spent time with it, like 24/7. As it grew up, I don't think it would eat you, but it might play around, like kittens and puppies do and maybe hurt you accidentally.
It would probably be very protective so god help any delivery man that came in the home to deliver something lol
Either way I don't think it would be child friendly or compatible with other pets.

I've actually heard of tigers and cheetahs being kept as pets in houses, so I would imagine lions could be a possibility. but I could only imagine how incredibly difficult it would be to train them. lions have not been domesticated.

Not really. There was one woman in Africa who had a pet lion. I read her biography called 'A lion in my bedroom' by Pat Cavendish O'neill. A fascinating story, she didn't only have a lion in her bedroom. She got really close to her lion, even closer than Joy Adamson, but it's extremely rare.

Yes if you will accept the miniature version. Find somebody who has a split-necklaced abyssinian kitten for sale. They are very tawny and sleek and great eyes. Unlike a lion, abyssinians only grow to about 6-8 pounds, they will poo in a litter box, and let you live another day. :)

It may be possible, but there are laws regarding species of wild animals as pets. You would need to find out what they are and how they apply in your jurisdiction.

I don't believe so. It might be a little dangerous. Plus the lion might attack you at night while you sleep.

Of Course. You should try your best to get one come live with you. All that stuff you see on the Discovery Channel is fake. Lies I tell you lies. They are all just paid actors. Why not swing by the zoo tomorrow and pick one up?
