No, my belief is that the best candidate, mentally, physically etc should be chosen and not just as a token for the color of their skin.

Affirmative action is an aberration!.
It produces lazy, good-for-nothing people. Why on earth should anybody receive any benefit based on the colour of one's skin?
People who are too lazy or no-good to get an education are the ones screaming 'Affirmative Action'!

While it is legal, affirmative action is just another from of discrimination. Instead of lowering the standards, we should addresses the issues that prevent people from competing and raise the performance.

yes but we shold take turns and it is time for white persons of european descent to get a lot of affirmative action. i want a high-paying government job with tenure and all the perks. and a government car to cruise in all that kinda stuff.

It should be up the the individual states as to whether or not they want to have it.

Currently, I believe 4 have banned it. I know MIchigan is one of them as it was just voted on last november.

No, and infact it shouldn't be allowed. AA only hurts people. It does NOT help them. I speak from personal experience with AA.

It is racism. Look up the word. It's the 'textbook' definition.

It's also anti-Constitutional.
