yes it is. mine stays on 24/7 so I set my anti virus & spyware tools to run scans while I'm sleeping.they cant run if the pc is off.only make sure you have your screen saver turned on so you dont burn your monitor screen with an image that sits there all night. good luck.

Yes and No. Now when you mean running do you mean with the desktop shower 24/7. That is ok, just make sure you have a screen saver on or shut the monitor off. The only disadvantages to leaving it on are
A) If you have highspeed you will always be connected to the interent and people have a long time to hack in (use a firewall)
B) Waste a lot of energy
Honestly, Just put it in stand by, lowers the power used, people can't connect to you, and it will also boot faster then it would if it was completely shut down. Shutting down here and there would be a bad idea to allow the computer to refesh here and there

I never turn mine off because I have weatherbug on it, that way if there are weather warning issued i get them even before the TV gives them. Also if you have a big enough fan on it you should be able to leave it on. I turn mine off once a week however. I do turn off the monitor every time I'm not at the computer though. As for your electric bill the comp doesn't use that much electric. the amount of electric used is equivalent to a 100 watt bulb.

It is okay to leave it on, but I wouldn't suggest it. The reason is that it is more work for the fan. When the fan burns out, then you PC will make a "zhzhzhzhzhzhzh" sound. I also will take too much of your ram memory out of you PC because it needs to maintain the quality of you graphics. It also means a hike of 8.6% more in you electric bill if you leave it on day and night for a month.
Hope this helps you!

I do - seems to do no harm except dust gets sucked in by the fans which I clean from time to time with one of those tiny vacuum cleaner kits. If you don't have a super firewall you might unplug the phone line when not in use (and I always forget to do that).

Only if you like high power bills. Other than that, no, they're designed to be able to run all the time.

Depends what kind of computer you have, and it's still better to shut it off sometimes. Laptops don't last as long as desktops.
