Was there a specific poodle that went on skirts? Because http://anniepoodleskirts.com/ claims to be like the most authentic poodle skirt.

Really cute ones! Most people know about the traditional "Poodle Skirt" -- the very full, longish circle skirt with embroidery, but those were not that widely worn. Mostly, women wore shirtwaist dresses, much like the ones in fashion now. Here are a few links:

Poodle skirts, saddle oxfords. White bucks(white suede shoes-with red rubber soles)Bowling shirts, skinny ties.

Those clothes were for the "preppie types.

The "greasers" wore black leather jackets and white Tshirts with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in the sleeve. Pointed toe shoes with a Cowboy boot type heel called Cuban heels.
