take the phone apart very carefully, and keep in mind you have to put it back together. alcohol absorbs water. i used some of that gel type hand cleaner on a toothbrush, just scrub lightly wherever there is water or likely mold. give a few minutes to dry as alcohol evaporates quickly. if you don't want to take it apart, and you want to take a chance, since you've already gotten it wet, just dip the phone into some alcohol for a few seconds, place in a warm, dry place, or use a hair dryer(alcohol is flammable, so be careful)

Most important, if you haven't done it yet, take the battery out.
wrap it in paper towels and shake it, blot it, etc. to get as much excess watter out as you can. The next step may scare you but I am dead serious... re-wrap it with new dry towels and put it in the microwave on the lowest setting you have, for about 5 min.s. If your micro only has the one setting and just a knob to set the time, put it in the oven, on the center shelf and set the oven on 150 or warm, leave the door cracked (as when cooling one) and let it cook for about 15 min.s. The idea is to cause the internal moisture to evaporate. most all components are IC's, chip parts, etc. and are hermetically sealed. The copper circuits are MFP coated so there is not much to "soak up" any water. When you are done and putting the battery back in brings it to life again, you may have to give the key pad a good alcohol bath to get the #'s to dial right.

Well, if it was in the water for a good length of time its more then likely toast. What I would try tho is taking it all apart. ie. taking the back off, the battery out, and the sim card if you have one. If it is still wet get a blow dryer and use it to try to dry it out. If that still doesnt help let it sit out and air dry for about a week or two.
My phone got dropped in water but luckily it didnt get fully submersed and I was able to salvage it by using the hair dryer. But on a diff note, by boyfriends phone was dropped in water and it was fully submersed and his didnt dry out for a month or two. Good luck. Hope it all works out

A cheap and effective way is to just suck out the water in the earpiece and the mouthpiece, you can try baking it but I wouldnt recomend it unless absolutley necessary, if none of them work that you should consider using insurance.
