Ive had a few pairs of Birks, one is a 38 (Birkis), which is too big. The pair I wore everyday for 6 years (milano's) fell apart and I have no idea what size they were (I bought them on ebay)... and I have a pair (grenada) which inside says 35... I think.

I measured them (my grenadas) and bought a pair on ebay which were just a tiny bit longer, so I figured was same size. (Mine measure 9 1/2 inches, ebay ones measure 9 3/4) The one's on ebay are a 37..and I just got them and they are too big.

So... if I am correct on the grenada's being a 35 which on Birkenstock websites says is a ladies 4-4 1/2... and I usually wear a 6. What size do I need??? The grenadas fit fine.. but I cant imagine that the difference between a 35 and a 37 is a quarter of an inch... Im so confused.

Birks are sized correctly...there might be a variation if you buy Betula or Papillio Birks instead of the regular ones. There are slight size differences there.
If you usually wear an American size 6, go off of that and don't let the other sizes confuse you. The difference between a 35 and a 37 is the equivalent of two shoe sizes...if the new ones are not astronomically big, but just a little, then your Grenadas might have been a size 36 instead of 35. If the 37s were super huge, then they were probably a 35.

I hope that helps!

I noticed there is a difference too. Go to QVC they will tell you the right size for which shoe you are looking at in the birk. section.
