I think it should be illegal. It's very mean and unthoughtful to do to your child.

A woman I know named her baby girl KEVIN!!! Now that is just cruel!!!
I know that she named her after her husband who passed away while she was pregnant so she was obviously grieving but it just seems harsh for the child. Couldn't she have at least given it to her as a middle name? or even called her Kevina?
She has now started school and it is already causing problems for her and she is ALWAYS being put in the boy groups because even if they correctly put her on the girls list people presume it's an error and shift her name.

Did she consider the impact that naming her daughter Kevin would have on her? I doubt it!

There are some names that can be both boy and girl names.

But there are some names that are typically boy names but are suitable for girls such as Dylan, Ryan, Jordan, and Shawn.

It doesn't necessarily bother me. I sort of like some of those names for a girl.

I don't think it offends me personally, since it has nothing to do with me and I don't mind girls with guys names, but some girls have trouble handling some of them. Like naming your girl "Steve" or like "David" could like scar her for life or at least through elementary and middle school. Little kids can be harsh. Plus it might get awkward for her husband XD

i think its cute. besides, there r a lot of names that are not even names that people r giving their babies (some of which r quite cool!), at least these people r still using names lol. when u come up with the "list of names and the appropriate genders they belong to" book , let us all know so we can conform to ur ideas of baby naming

One of my best friends is named Tyler. She is 22 years old and is very mad at her mother for naming her a boy's name. She gets phone calls to 'Mr. Tyler ****" I think it is mean. And same with boys who have a girl's name, like Ashley or Kim.

Nah...whats mean and unthoughtful is if you don't raise your child to be proud of who they are...name included.

It kinda got to me when my cousin named her little gilr Peyton Jay. The poor little girl is bound to be made fun of with a name like that. It's sad cause she is a beautiful girl.

I don't believe for one second that Casey used for a boy or a girl makes any difference.
