Since the Bush Oligarchy came to power, over 3200 Americans have died in an imperialistic war which the Neocons initiated by flagrant lies. The Patriot Act placed stunning restrictions on the civil liberties of Americans as Bush and the Neocons leveraged the fear inspired by 9/11. Theocracy has crept into what is left of America's democracy through Bush's "faith based initiatives". Corporate interests predominate over the welfare of individuals. At $5.15 per hour, the pitifully low minimum wage has not increased since 1997. Organized labor continues to weaken as union membership has declined to about 12% of the workforce. Greedy, profiteering corporations like Wal-Mart grow exponentially as they strip-mine the American economy. 45 million Americans do not have health insurance and the Oligarchs are deepening the problem by slashing Medicaid's budget. Under Bush, the wealth gap has become a chasm. The top 1% of Americans own 40% of the nation's assets, and lay claim to as much wealth as the bottom 95%. The American government is infested with Neocon disciples of Leo Strauss like Paul Wolfowitz and Karl Rove. American leaders are driven by a Machiavellian lust for power and practice deceit like an art-form.

Why? It will be a waste of time. Impeachment is not conviction. Clinton (Bill) was impeached, but not convicted. Nothing happened. How soon you forget. Bush will not be convicted. He'll by out of office by law, before impeachment can happen. You are describing an exercise in futility.

What's the point? He's out of office in January 2009 and impeachment does not mean removal from office. Clinton got impeached and it was a big wastge of taxpayer money. Pure politics.

As much as he deserves it - no. He's run the country too far into the ground at this point, so wasting time like the GOP goons did to Clinton in 98 would be counterproductive.

Hopefully this Congress with continue to shine a bright light on the culture of corruption and dishonesty that went unchecked when Tom DeLay was head of the SS.

Impeach him on what legal basis?

Now, remember--I asked for a legal basis, not wild rantings or a list of things that ticked you off. What LEGAL basis?

Impeach for what?

We can't impeach. We are not the U.S. Congress.

Might as well - it would be right along the lines of a non-binding resolution, numerous proposals with no chance in hell of passing and stuffing pork into the war funding package - and it would be just as ineffective. But, hey, that never slows a liberal down, eh?
