HELP!!!
My computer seems to freeze for no reason. I have runned a virus program but it stills keeps freezing i need help!!!!!!!

it is about two years old and its windows xp. its not that old its a flat screen i have tried my virus program that came with my sbc/at&t internet.
it has no viruses and i have done a disck clean-up. it still keeps freezing up what is the problem HELP!!!

I would assume you are running Windows, possibly on an older PC. If you haven't yet, upgrade to XP. It is the most reliable Windows as of now. Use registry cleaners (google it) and defragmenters to provide some basic maintenace to your computer. Also, if your computer is older some virus programs, like Norton AntiVirus, will severly slow down the machine, and certainly would cause crashing. Norton is notorious for this. If this is your problem I would switch to something like McAfee or something that is not as processor intensive.

Maybe there are some regsitry errors and remnant,corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer freezing".You need to clean you computer.

You probably have picked up some spyware. Spyware is not covered by your antivirus software. I assume that your computer is running Windows. Install Spybot from the site below, start it, update it and run the Search an Destroy option. That should speed your computer up.

this could be bacause it is old or beacause of certain websites or because its been on all day. my computer will freeze if it has been in use all day. i just turn it off then back on and its ok. sometimes it just needs a rest

If you add more ram ,it would help but also could be hard drive has bad tracks, run ckkdsk from the property of drive c:\

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
