I have an ibook g4, and i just got the brand new verizon fios. I dont think im being spammed, I get security updates from apple as soon as they come out with them...it just started this week, so what gives.

Did you scan your computer for viruses and spyware? Usually a sudden drop in connection speed and/or computer performance is a telltale sign of infection. Despite what some people might think, Macs are vulnerable to viruses and spyware just like PC's.

Hey, what it may be is that you are farther away from the verizon fios station. You may need to contact them or go to your network connections and change the software you use.
I suggest you do that or maybe you should start a wireless network, i hope it helps
