Hi,

Right firstly if you're phone plays MP3, you simply send the MP3 file to the phone and play it that way.
However if you're phone doesn't have an MP3 player, there is another way, but it takes a bit longer:
First go to the computer and find your phone and take a ringtone off of the phone, or copy it off of it, then look at the format. It will probably be a .midi format - My phone is anyway.

then you know that your phone plays .midi files, so acquire a program that can convert music files from MP3 to .midi format - You can go to Download.com and find something there to do it for free.

Then once you have your song in your phones format, simply send it to the phone, then you can set it to the ringtone and you;re laughing :)

Note:- A .midi file can take up more room than a MP3 song, even if it is the same song, because MP3 can compress a lot more. This means that you have to have a reasonable memory on your phone to be able to store the song
Or you could edit the song and just have the first 30 seconds of the song

You can't. I already tried this on my phone. You cannot use the mp3 format on your cell phone unless it is an MP3 player too. Chocolate is one that comes to mind which is an MP3 player also.
