Hi, I've had this computer for 5-6years. It was a shitty computer to begin with (Even when I first bought it) I didn't know anything about computers back then. It's so slow that, everytime I play computer games with my friends, they think I have SLOW INTERNET.(I have yahoo sbc) Anyways, I'm planning to purchase a new computer soon. My friend recommended me to www.alienware.com But I don't really want to spend 2000-5000dollars on a mere computer, nor am I a hardcore gamer(and they look ugly). I would go to Fry's, but unfortunately there is none in my neighborhood. What I want is basically, a GOOD computer. I would say for gaming purposes/entertainments. In a range from $900-$1200. And no, I don't want any customize-built computers. I want a computer with known brand, and something that A LOT of people bought this year 2007. Reason being, is because this is probably the last time my parents will buy me a computer. So I want to make sure, it's fast/large in space, and wont be obsolete ..

Edit: After surfing through computer forums and such, most people choose to build their own computers, and I don't know a thing about building a computer. So ..what would you recommend from http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/
By the way, is that a good website to buy computer from?

Intel Core2Dual is a must.

By the way, is that a good website to buy a computer from? Also, the computers on that website, all they customized-built?

Who cares about brands. they are a rip-off
customize from a small vendor who has people who care about you and know what they r doing
from brands u get rubbish from chinese factories

Specs:
Intel core2duo 1.8ghz+
1 to 2 g ram,
good pci-ex vga (i have asus ati x1650)
sata 2 hdd 160gb+
19" viewsonic lcd
good mouse and keyboard
dvdrw: dont bother now about bluray or hd...let them sort it out first
nice cam and 2.1 or 5.1 speakers
same as ur budget
great machine

good vga not only for gamers, this pc will last u years
Remember eac extra dollar u spend today buys you time in pc life

make sure:
- m/b has intel 965 chipset and made by Gigabyte or Asus,
- for ram insist on Ram Corsair or crucial or kingston
- Get the best case u can afford..v important..good psu and acceptable noise

Buying a computer takes time. First go to all places and see the computer you like. I would reccomend an HP or DELL Computer. When you do buy the computer I would reccomend not to buy Windows Vista. Keep Windows XP. Also most HP computers are in the price range you are looking for.

Go to Dell.com and look at XPS desktops or Inspiron laptops. You'll get a lot for $1000.
